As the buzz around Elf musical tickets gathers pace, it has been announced that the upcoming Broadway production of the Will Ferrell smash will involve several Drowsy Chaperone cats members. this is good news for fans of the Tony Award-winning show. There’s no doubt that this cast will benefit those buying Elf the Musical tickets, with some solid professionals taking charge and making sure that this new holiday show is in the running to be among the most successful of the coming season.
Canadian Bob Martin, actor/co-writer of The Drowsy Chaperone, provided the book for Elf the Musical along with Tony-winning writer Tom Meehan (The Producers, Hairspray). When it comes to the more physical arrangements, Elf the Musical is to be directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw. Nicholaw also provided choreography for the Drowsy Chaperone on Broadway. The tale of the young boy accidentally transported to the North Pole in one of Santa’s sacks is sure to be a huge hit this season, and Elf tickets are set to outsell many other Broadway productions. The boy, whose name is Buddy, is subsequently raised at the North Pole with Santa’s Elves, and is thought to be one of them. When his true identity is finally discovered, Buddy sets off on an epic quest to find his biological parents in New York City. Lead Drowsy Chaperone actress Beth Leavel has also joined the cast of Elf cast, with long-experienced actors and George Wendt, famous as Norm from TV’s long-running comedy series, “Cheers”.
The part of Buddy, played by Ferrell in the fabled 2003 movie, is yet to be cast, but you can bet the central role will be taken by someone who will take it to new levels, live on stage!
