Elf the Musical. Tickets and Cast All Set!

Casting for Elf the Musical is well and truly done and dusted, and all you have to do now is buy Elf tickets and go to the show! You may have heard rumors about Elf being one of the freshest ideas in holiday theater in years, and you heard right! The creative team behind Elf the Musical have already unveiled Sebastian Arcelus (he was electrifying as Bob Gaudio in “Jersey Boys”) as Buddy, the protagonist, and he will be amazing in Elf. Arcelus is no stranger to the big stage; he starred in “Wicked” and “Rent” and let’s face it, it doesn’t get any bigger than Wicked. Tickets to Elf are selling almost as good as Wicked tickets and Radio City Christmas Spectacular tickets this year, and that is one heck of a thing for a brand new musical.

Among the other players you can expect to see gracing the Elf the Musical schedule are Amy Spanger (“The Wedding Singer”), who will play Jovie, a New York department store employee who is looking for some holiday spirit, plus the biggie  – George Wendt of “Cheers”! That’s right, everyone’s favorite barroom wit is transferring his talents to the stage for this memorable children’s production. Elf tickets are selling for all kinds of reasons, and one is that plenty of moms and dads are curious to see George ply his trade in a novel new setting. There are no prizes for guessing which character George plays! Just think about it, Santa fans!

Elf the Musical begins a couple of days of previews at the Al Hirschfeld Theater on November 2, opening proper on November 4. There follows a journey to New York, to find his father and be reunited with those who love him. Buddy learns many life lessons about the nature of cold-hearted humanity while on his odyssey – and your kids will absolutely love it!
