Elf the Musical tickets are blowing all else off the stage here on Broadway as we head into the theater holiday schedule for 2010! The never-before-seen holiday musical based on the film starring Will Ferrell is really hitting the heights, and many of those buying Elf tickets are tourists visiting the Big Apple. They just love it! The fact is, Elf doesn’t pretend to be so-called “serious theater”. Instead, it is sweet, harmonic and touching tale of loyalty, of how a prodigal son returns to his homeland from Santa’s Workshop to find hard-hearted cynics at every turn, including his own family. This is a show that a lot of tourists and their families will see, and they will lap it up, no pun intended (Santa’s Workshop is said to be in Lapland – oh, never mind).
The Elf the Musical cast really do put in a solid shift during every performance. Each of the leading lights is sure to belt out a sterling tune or three, and Sebastian Arcelus – Buddy, the kid who makes the epic journey – is particularly amazing. If you’re planning on being in New York during the holiday, Elf is one of the top things to do in New York City during the holidays. In fact, if you asked anyone in the know to make a list of 10 things to do in New York they would surely put Elf the Musical at the very top of the list!
The best thing about Elf the Musical is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously while doing as well as anything else on Broadway right now. There is a clear message, and that is, don’t worry, be happy, and above all be genuine. People will always respect that. When the central figure, Buddy, announces that he isn’t who they think he is, it opens the door for him to embark on a journey to re-discover his true self. And what a trip it is, too! Don’t be surprised if you see little kids jumping up and shouting to the performers, or adults almost moved to tears by the story. Elf the musical tickets are all that and more. Elf tickets on Broadway are the stuff of magic, of the holiday season, and your kids will love you if you make this show part of their holiday treats! Check out the Elf schedule and lap it up!
